Clean It Regularly

If you own a chain link fence, it is critical that you clean it a few times a year especially during the winter when dirt and debris can accumulate.  Cleaning your fence will prevent discoloration and rust from forming.  All you need to do is use hose to spray and dirt or debris off from your fence.  You might have to scrub built-in stains with a sponge and hot soapy water.

Remove Debris and Vines

When taking care of your fence, it is critical that you remove any weeds or vines that could tangle around your structure.  Weeds are the biggest enemy to your chain link fence because they can wrap around the chains and break them.  Weeds and vines can also entangle the bottom of your fence and uproot the whole structure.  Make sure to use an environmentally friendly weed killing product around your fence.

Inspect and Repair As Needed

It is essential that you inspect your fence occasionally to look for any repairs that need to be made.  If you have children, they can damage your fence by jumping or playing on it.  Make sure you let them know that your chain link fence should not be touched.
